So, I decided to try stand-up comedy for the first time last night, which is a drastic departure from my usual brand of “sit down in front of a computer” comedy. To say this was unrehearsed would be a mild understatement. I basically went through my Cracked articles on my phone while I was at the club and wrote down a few talking points from them. After that, I went on stage and hoped for the best.
I signed up for three minutes but wound up being on stage for more than ten minutes. The joke about wearing the “stereotypical female comic outfit” happened because a chick who went on before me said that was what SHE was wearing and we were damn near identically dressed. I also got to deal with a heckler, which was good times.
